Healing Generations Survivor Leadership Program

Summer
2026

Developed by and for survivors in 2018, Healing Generations equips survivors with the skills and resources to combat the root causes of gender-based violence in their communities. Community members co-created the curriculum and program structure.

In the summer of 2026, Healing to Action will hold the fifth cohort of this eight-week leadership program and is currently accepting applications and nominations for up to 20 community leaders to attend the program.

Program participants will gain:

  • A deeper understanding of gender, sexuality, and gender-based violence;

  • Communication skills to talk about gender-based violence with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers;

  • Tools to organize with survivors;

  • Opportunities to advance grassroots campaigns to end gender-based violence; and

  • A support network of diverse leaders from communities across Chicago who are passionate about making their communities safer.

Nominations from community organizations are due March 16, 2026. Applications from interested candidates are due March 31, 2026.
